MultiVersus: a fighting game for those not interested in fighting games

Basketball player and real human being LeBron James also joined the roster as part of the open beta launch. While there's not an exact date attached to the game's launch, "MultiVersus" will be released at some point in 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It's worth noting that the game has not been announced for Nintendo Switch, so despite being a "Super Smash Bros." clone, "MultiVersus" won't be directly competing with the popular fighter on Nintendo's platform. Fans who are already chomping at the bit to dive into the new game can sign up for playtests on the official "MultiVersus" website. "MultiVersus" is going to be a free-to-play title, with cross-play and cross-progression across all the platforms it is releasing on.

Sword in hand, you can always count on Finn to charge into battle – and MultiVersus isn’t any different. As an Assassin archetype character, he’s a lot like Harley Quinn in the sense that he can deal a lot of damage in the right situation. But, that – and out MultiVersus Season 1 tier list – is for the future. Right now, we’re going to rank the entire MultiVersus roster and let you know why we think there are some characters better than others. We’re sorry in advance if your favourite is lower down than you’d like.

We didn’t think we’d be saying this, but we know how Elmer Fudd feels. Bugs Bunny is a menace in and out of MultiVersus and that makes him a top-tier character. Another character that excels at a distance and at close range, Bugs Bunny can surprise enemies thanks to being a Hybrid class. When it comes to his attacks and specials his bombs are great at disrupting enemies, while the Bat-Slide and Batarang projectiles can have the air and ground covered, while he isn’t darting about from place to place.

Of course, there are a few things to learn and keep in mind, such as"perk stacking" and why it's important. Fighting game fans will also be happy to hear that MultiVersus will not suffer the same online troubles as Smash. Not only will the game have dedicated servers, but they’ll also feature the vastly superior rollback netcode as opposed to delay-based, which causes far more de-sync issues in fighting games. On top of that, matches will be easy to get thanks to it being a fully crossplay game, and it will also have cross-progression if you want to move between platforms. Following the release of the trailer, check out Batman and Superman and more in action in gameplay footage for the new MultiVersus all-new free-to-play, platform fighter videogame made up of Warner Bros. characters from the Multiverse.

Huynh also mentioned that "MultiVersus" will have regular events and leaderboards, so the more competitive-minded players will have something to strive for. The first hints that "MultiVersus" was real came when the official "Tom and Jerry" and "Looney Tunes" Twitter accounts tagged WB Games and announced that their iconic characters were missing. Very shortly afterward, the official "MultiVersus" Twitter account was unveiled, along with the first trailer for the new game.

Despite how much we’ve seen, and even played, of MultiVersus, this is the first official gameplay trailer for the game. In it, we see some of the crazy character combinations possible in this crossover fighter and hear some unique dialogue for each combination of ally and opponent. For those who want to play before everyone else during the early access period, you'll automatically be invited if you were part of the closed alpha which took place previously. If you didn't but still want a shot at some early brawls, you can perhaps score access through Twitch Drops.

The release date for when Rick and Morty will start to come out in MultiVersus has been delayed but some skins have leaked with gameplay animations. Fans can also take solace in the fact that WB Games seems to be starting its full marketing campaign for the game in earnest, so there's a chance that the game will be released in the first part multiversus gameplay leak of 2022. The bigger question here is how much content in MultiVersus isn’t multiplayer. We already stated that the game is designed for 2v2, but also allows 1v1 and four-player free for all, but no specific modes outside of the standard have been shown. We do know there will at least be ranked playlists for those looking to take the game more seriously, but for the moment, that’s all we know.
